Advisory Committee Task Groups
The Advisory Committee periodically convenes Task Groups to conduct background research, gain public input and engage in detailed discussions to turn approved Committee motions into full-fledged recommendations, in the form of Advice Letters.
As of May 2023, the Advisory Committee has two active Task Groups:
- A Federal Building Decarbonization Task Group to explore opportunities and challenges for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in alignment with national climate goals and action plans, through the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, electrification and smart building technologies at federal facilities.
- A new Green Leasing Task Group to explore and recommend approaches to help GSA meet federal requirements for net zero greenhouse gas emissions in its leasing of space in privately-owned commercial buildings for federal use.
