NCR 4th Floor after Total Workplace changes
The GSA Administrator has issued a challenge to the regional offices to leverage mobility and telework strategies to achieve a reduction in our real estate footprint and at the same time, encourage collaboration and new ways of working.
To answer the Administrator's challenge, NCR's Office of Planning and Design Quality (OPDQ) transitioned the outdated setup (see pictures below) into an open space layout with smaller “home base” workstations, and devoted the remaining space to a variety of shared-use workplace settings and functions.
- 100% Occupancy Increase: 20 additional employees were able to move into a space which previously held 21.
- 16 Tons: Annual reduction of CO2 (CWS Carbon Calc.)
- 94 USF / Person: Reduced from 203 usf/person

support the mobile worker
- Opened corridor and work spaces to natural daylight and
- Screened the space from “corridor traffic”
- Limited budget sustainable high-performance green build-out (HPGB)
