Historic multi-residential property in Kansas City, MO, available via online auction

KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- The U.S. General Services Administration announces the online auction of Windsor Manor, located at 409 E. Armour Blvd. GSA is selling the property on behalf of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The online auction is part of GSA’s ongoing efforts to dispose of excess properties saving taxpayer dollars and making more efficient use of the government’s real estate assets.

“This is another example of GSA’s efforts to find a use for federal properties that are no longer needed in the federal inventory,” said Regional Administrator Michael Copeland, GSA’s Heartland Region. “By disposing of the property on behalf of the VA, GSA will reduce the federal footprint, generate revenue and future savings for the government, and help create potential economic development opportunity through revitalization.”

  • The property is a multi-residential four-story building constructed in 1924-25 containing approximately 24,500 square feet on a .21 acre lot.
  • Located at 409 E. Armour Blvd. in midtown Kansas City, Missouri, the property is situated on a corner lot in an urban area with a rich history. 
  • The property is 3 miles from the junction of Interstate 35 and U.S. Highway 169 and 1 mile from U.S. Route 71 and East 35th Street.

  • The auction opened Dec. 20 on RealEstateSales.gov.
  • Registration and a refundable deposit of $25,000 is required to start bidding. GSA real estate auctions typically run six to eight weeks. This sale was extended due to the recent partial government shutdown. An auction typically closes after the last bid survives 24 hours without competition.
