GSA Recruitment Continues Diversity Focused Outreach for the Summer

We know our best chance for meeting our mission to deliver value and savings in real estate, acquisition, technology, and other mission-support services across government is our diverse and high-performing workforce. To support our efforts toward building a strong workforce, we focus on expanding our recruitment candidacy pool through targeted outreach initiatives.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Human Resources Management’s National Recruitment Center (NRC) focuses on expanding our recruitment candidacy pool through targeted outreach initiatives.

In July, the NRC began training 49 GSA brand ambassadors to serve as the “face of GSA.” This new initiative started this summer to help promote GSA among prospective job candidates. Selected GSA employees learned virtual and in-person recruitment tools and activities to recruit candidates for their regions and offices. These ambassadors will actively work to fill key vacancies and ensure we continue to have a diverse, culturally competent, and high-performing workforce.

In addition to the brand ambassadors initiative, NRC continuously updates its national college/university mailing list to give high-level candidates GSA’s active job postings. The posts  increase the pool of candidates who view and apply to GSA’s job opportunities.

OHRM works with  a broad range of professional organizations to recruit a diverse, qualified, and dedicated pool of candidates for position openings at all levels. Our outreach has increased the diversity of the candidate pool, including:

  • 16 veterans organizations
  • 58 Schedule A organizations
  • 279 Hispanic serving institutions
  • 93 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)
  • 36 Tribal colleges and universities
