GSA has announced a name change for the government’s official Internet site. will now be -- an easy-to-remember name that was created based on citizen input. The Spanish language counterpart for has also been renamed to, which already serves some 43 million Hispanic-Americans with government information.

Both sites have added new features that bring services to citizens faster than ever before. “Web Chat” is a personal online assistance service that lets visitors ask questions online and get an immediate response. also has an enhanced search engine and a new gateway for Visitors to the U.S., which provides information about conducting business, getting educated, or traveling in the U.S.

With a new logo and motto “Government Made Easy,” this is another step in making government information accessible to the public.
