Only Weekday Farmers Market in Lakewood Kicks Off June 11
The U.S. General Services Administration celebrates its sixth season of having the only weekday farmers market in Lakewood, Colo. at the Denver Federal Center Bicentennial Park. The market will be open rain or shine starting every Thursday, June 11 - August 27 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The market features easy access for the public, amenities such as free parking, shade, landscaping, open-air pavilions, bike racks and picnic benches.
“From savoring produce at the peak of freshness to meeting the people who grow your food, there are many reasons to support farmers markets,” said Susan Damour, GSA Regional Administrator. “GSA is proud to support local small businesses while promoting healthier living and building a stronger sense of community.”
This year’s market features local meat and farm fresh produce, to a variety of food trucks with delicious lunch options, to local honey, fresh baked bread and more. The season will start with about 30 vendors. For a complete list of 2015 vendors, please visit our farmers market webpage.
Remember to bring cash and checks to the market (some vendors may accept credit cards). Visitors are welcome and can access the market at Gate 1, located at 6th and Kipling, and Gate 4, located at Union and 4th Avenue, or Gate 5 located at Union Blvd and 2nd Street. Visitors should be prepared to present a valid driver’s license upon entry. Please keep your furry friends home; pets are not allowed on the campus.
