Tour the West Virginia “Town” for Sale at Sugar Grove Station

Bidding open at $1 million; Deposit of $100,000 required

PHILADELPHIA – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced another opportunity for prospective buyers to inspect the Sugar Grove Station, formerly the Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC).  Tours are by appointment only and will be provided on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. EST. Additionally, the online auction for the Sugar Grove Station property is open for bidding. The starting bid is $1M and a bid deposit of $100,000 is required.

Located at 133 Hedrick Drive in Sugar Grove in Pendleton County, WV, Sugar Grove Station is situated on 122.8 acres of land and has approximately 105 structures.  The property is less than one hour from Harrisonburg, VA, two hours from Washington, DC and near the George Washington National Forest. The site is located within a National Radio-Free Quiet Zone.

Sugar Grove Station has many modern amenities.  Major facilities include: an administration facility, fire/emergency services center, police station, retail complex, community, youth and fitness centers, and recreational lodging consisting of 10 cabins and 9 camping sites.  There are 80 housing units, as well as 53 Bachelor Enlisted Quarters housing suites (106 rooms).

As part of GSA's ongoing efforts to make more efficient use of our real estate assets, GSA is actively working with federal agencies to identify and timely dispose of unneeded properties. Moving underutilized properties, such as the Sugar Grove Station, out of the federal inventory allows for local use that better promotes economic growth and saves taxpayer dollars
