GSA Awards CAMEO Task Orders to Transform FAS Business Systems and Applications

Washington, DC-- Today GSA announced the award of the CAMEO Task Order to Lockheed Martin, and the CAMEO Small Business Task Order to Alliant Solution Partners. The CAMEO program supports GSA’s Office of Chief Information Officer with a highly transformative approach to updating the Federal Acquisition Service’s (FAS) business systems. This award will support the agency’s mission to efficiently and effectively deliver products and services by updating mission-critical systems that are used to support every agency across the federal government,

The CAMEO program will streamline a highly integrated IT portfolio of approximately 90 business applications. The award covers application development and modernization, as well as operations and maintenance of the business applications used by FAS to deliver products and services. The applications support a wide variety of FAS systems and programs including GSA Global Supply, Multiple Award Schedules, Personal Property Management, Travel, Fleet, Purchase Card Services, and Integrated Technology programs.

“GSA’s mission to provide efficiency and savings to our federal partners requires FAS to deploy multiple, integrated business applications and IT systems. We are moving to reduce the number of applications and platforms used by FAS, by updating and removing duplicative systems and driving new efficiencies into how we conduct business with our customer agencies,” said Tom Sharpe, FAS Commissioner. “The work to be done through the CAMEO award is highly transformative and will support our efforts to launch the Common Acquisition Platform (CAP) and transform FAS into The Government Acquisition Marketplace.”

Additional Key Points:

  • The CAMEO task order represents a flexible, performance-based contract approach that maximizes opportunity for small business
  • The work conducted under the CAMEO program includes most of the applications previously maintained under the GSA FAME blanket purchase agreement.
  • GSA's assisted acquisition team in the Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) awarded and is managing this acquisition on behalf of the GSA IT.
  • GSA's IT organization will provide technical oversight to the CAMEO program to ensure continuity of existing systems and services throughout the transformation effort.
