Changing how we develop and acquire technology is vital to keeping data and systems safe.  And addressing the needs of federal agencies with a comprehensive strategy and the best solutions available from the private sector is critical.  Challenges and threats to our security develop quickly- so government has to not only move much faster to respond, we also need to have the tools to get ahead of those threats.  That’s why today’s event and our collaborative efforts are so important.”

The event brought together government and industry partners to discuss the development of effective proactive and reactive cybersecurity services that will better assist federal agencies in identifying critical cybersecurity risks, responding effectively to threats, and accessing innovative private sector cybersecurity talent to remediate vulnerabilities..

Attendees also learned about DHS’s Risk and Vulnerability Assessments (RVA) and Incident Response (IR) processes as well as emerging acquisition solutions through  IT Schedule 70 (IT70).  GSA speakers discussed the upcoming addition of Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) Special Item Number (SIN) on IT70, the results of GSA’s Cybersecurity Services RFI, how GSA’s new Making It Easier initiative and FAStlane process can help new and innovative companies more seamlessly access the Federal marketplace and provide inventive products and services that meet government cybersecurity goals.
