GSA Partners in Technology
VISION UPDATE: August 23, 2016
GSA’s mission is to deliver the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people. This mission requires us to be partners with customer agencies to procure secure solutions that improve operations and meet specific IT needs. GSA is driving and leading shared IT initiatives across the federal government in high priority areas like acquisition and cybersecurity.
The government has taken a proactive effort to improve federal cybersecurity. The President’s fiscal year 2017 budget calls for a $19 billion increase in cybersecurity investments across government and outlines the Administration’s Cybersecurity National Action Plan (CNAP). GSA continues to play a central role in this mission by working closely with our federal customers and private sector partners to develop new technology solutions and secure IT systems.
GSA takes a strategic approach to improving government cybersecurity efforts and acquisition tools. GSA services such as Technology Transformation Service (TTS), 18F, Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) and GSA IT work with businesses and organizations of all sizes, as well as individual citizens to strengthen the integrity of our nation’s most vital assets.
GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth recently traveled to San Francisco to engage with industry leaders, CIOs and local officials at GSA’s Cyber Industry Day. These efforts further develop our IT partnerships. The Cyber Industry Day provide the opportunity for government stakeholders and industry partners to ask CNAP-related questions and discuss new and emerging cybersecurity services and how those services can be used by federal departments and agencies. The industry day was the first of it’s kind in Silicon Valley and underscores our emphasis on cultivating beneficial partnerships on behalf of the American public.
