The J. Marvin Jones Federal Building and Mary Lou Robinson United States Courthouse, located at 205 East Fifth Street, was built in 1939. It sits on 1.32 acres in the middle of the Amarillo central business district.
It is made of concrete and steel with a limestone veneer. The exterior of the building boasts large rectangular granite planters in the front complemented with an aluminum railing. In the lobby is a beautiful yellow terrazzo floor along with extremely unusual wormhole marble covering the lobby walls. Murals by Julius Woeltz adorn the top part of each wall in the lobby.
