$2500 Cash Prize Offered for Most Creative or Inspiring Video

WASHINGTON – Responding to President Obama’s goal for a more citizen-centered government that is transparent, participatory, and collaborative,, the citizen’s portal to the government, is giving the public a chance to show how the award-winning Web site has made their lives easier and win some money in the process.

From Feb. 22 through April 2, the public can submit their 30 to 90-second videos to The person who submits the most creative, entertaining or inspiring video will win a cash prize of $2500. The videos will be showcased on YouTube (, so all citizens will be able to see them. A panel of judges from GSA’s Office of Citizen Services, the office that runs and manages, will determine the contest winner.

“We’re capitalizing on the YouTube generation’s propensity for sharing and creativity to engage the public in a fun and unique way,” said David McClure, Associate Administrator for the Office of Citizen Services and Communication. “Thousands of people come to every day to find government information, ranging from jobs and education opportunities, to benefits and grants.
