GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth delivers keynote at Fedstival’s Next Tech

Technology leaders throughout GSA share insights on what's next for the federal government

WASHINGTON — Today U.S. General Services Administrator Denise Turner Roth delivered the keynote speech at Fedstival’s Next Tech event.

“The need for government to provide effective digital service is clear. The public expects a responsive, transparent and efficient government that mirrors their experience with the private sector,” said Administrator Roth. “Our goal is to create an environment in which we don’t spend all of our time solving existing challenges, but rather anticipate what will be needed ahead of time. That’s where GSA is headed in terms of government efforts to push the technological envelope.”

The Next Tech event explored the technologies that will help solve government's most pressing challenges and take innovation to the next level. A range of technologists, innovators and IT leaders highlighted efforts underway to infuse innovation across federal agencies and solve the security obstacles that come with new technologies. GSA’s Justin Herman spoke about how emerging technologies like the Artificial Intelligence and Augmented/Virtual Reality for Citizen Services have the potential to change the future of government.

Fedstival continues through October 7, 2016. GSA’s Deputy Administrator Adam Neufeld, Director of the Presidential Transition Tim Horne, Executive Director of 18F Aaron Snow, FedRAMP Program Manager for Cybersecurity Claudio Belloli, and 18F Designer Jen Ehlers will share their insights about what’s next for the federal government at other Fedstival events.
