Measuring, monitoring and communicating how GSA operates against planned targets and goals leads to better results for customers and the public. Managing operations in this manner also allows GSA employees to understand how they contribute, what is expected of them, and how they are performing.

  • A database that streamlines all reporting requirements and promotes data use through dashboards and other analytic tools.

Progress to Date

GSA has made major strides on performance management and is well positioned to make progress with this initiative in 2016 and beyond. GSA has created the Office of Strategy and Performance in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer to coordinate all performance activities across GSA and to improve the way we collect and leverage performance data. The Office of Strategy and Performance instituted quarterly performance reviews for each HSSO and assured that FY16 performance planning for each HSSO included quantifiable targets. Additionally, in 2015 OHRM created performance plan templates for common job series.
