GSA to fulfill U.S. Census Bureau Requirements via the Automated Advanced Acquisition Program

Beginning, July 13, 2017, the General Services Administration’s Automated Advanced Acquisition Program will begin collecting offers to fulfill a large number of anticipated short-term lease requirements for the United States Census Bureau.

The GSA will procure Area Census Offices throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico, for the Census 2020 initiative. These locations will serve the agency’s employees across the country responsible for motivating people to respond to the Census Survey and ultimately counting the population. The results yield important national data which will determine accurate apportionment of congressional districts and the allocation of federal funding to vital programs.

Locations and additional requirement detail will be posted in project specific advertisements when the information is available to the public. This detail will be posted on www.fbo.gov and can be easily found by a “Keyword / Solicitation #” search for 17-CENSUS.

Building owners and their representatives that have inventory that can meet the lease requirements are strongly encouraged to visit www.aaap.gsa.gov, review the Census Request for Lease Proposal Package, register for an AAAP account, and submit vacant space. The first wave of procurements, begins July 13, 2017 and the second wave of remaining locations is estimated to begin by October 2017.
