GSA's Energy Saving Projects Save Taxpayers Money

Today, during our Earth Day celebration, I had the pleasure of accepting an energy rebate check for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) in the amount of $12,645. The rebate was for a GSA's energy saving project to replace over 200 standard light bulbs with energy-efficient LED bulbs at Ports of Entry in Laredo and Del Rio, Texas.
GSA does a lot of projects to become more energy efficient. These projects range from solar panels to water saving landscapes at our federal buildings. As we move forward with more projects to "green" the government, the energy savings continue to grow. Small changes can add up to big savings. For GSA, it means big savings to the American taxpayer.
