Region 4 Leadership
Erville “Erv” Koehler was appointed as Acting Regional Administrator in January 2014 and again in September 2016. In this role, Koehler is responsible for 44 million square feet of owned and leased real estate, and a $10B procurement operation, among other services administered on behalf of federal agencies.
Koehler serves as the Regional Commissioner for the Southeast Sunbelt Region of the U.S. General Services Administration. The GSA Southeast Sunbelt Region (Region 4) encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Koehler has served as FAS Regional Commissioner since 2012, leading a team of dedicated public servants who provide vehicles, supplies, network services, personal property disposal, IT commodities and acquisition support to federal agencies and the military.
From 2002 - 2012, Koehler advanced through a series of positions within GSA, serving in Atlanta as the Region 4 Director of the Network Services and Fleet Management Divisions, and in Washington, DC as FAS Budget Officer. Koehler began his career working in the private sector as a government contract administrator and eventually served as a peak performance management consultant to GSA and other federal agencies. Koehler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Business Administration degree from Marymount University. He is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager and earned a Master’s Certificate in Federal Contracting from George Washington University.
