GSA's Langfeld To Sit on FEIAA Board of Directors; Waszily Appointed to Second Term

WASHINGTON -- The Federal Executive Institute Alumni Association (FEIAA) has announced the election of Stanley C. Langfeld and the reappointment of Gene Waszily, both of the U.S. General Services Administration, to its 12-member Board of Directors.

Langfeld, Director of the Real Property Policy Division, Office of Real Property in the Office of Governmentwide Policy, was selected in a membership vote to a three-year term on the Board and was installed during the board's regular meeting January 19.

"I wish to thank all of you for your support, and I shall work very hard to ensure that your position is heard on vital and strategic issues impacting the future of Federal executives at GSA," said Langfeld in a recent memo to colleagues. "Also, I shall pursue issues involving the continuing education of federal executives as we face new challenges; provide for the succession of highly qualified federal executives as retirements increase; and work to protect the future of the Civil Service System."

Waszily, Assistant Inspector General for Auditing, Office of Inspector General, and currently serving as Secretary to the Board, was re-appointed for his second and final term in the election.

"Re-election to the FEIAA Board of Directors is truly a great honor. The association has a number of executive networking and professional development projects in the planning stages. I'm very pleased that I have been given the opportunity to stay directly involved in seeing them come to fruition," said Waszily.

Claudia L. Bogard, formerly the Chief of Staff, Office of the Chief Financial Officer, begins her second year on the Board. She attended FEI in October of 1994 and has served as GSA's agency representative since 1995, a role she recently passed on to Langfeld following her decision to leave GSA. "The professional camaraderie that develops among FEI program attendees is unique and lasting. FEIAA provides a venue where Federal executives can continue to forge constructive partnerships across agency boundaries," said Bogard. She is now the Director of Communications for Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Crystal City.

Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, and operated by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, FEI is the federal government's most celebrated executive center. Federal and state agencies have sent their best and brightest senior executives and managers to residential training there since 1968 to promote excellence in public service while strengthening development opportunities.

The FEI Alumni Association is the exclusive network of over 2,100 program graduates and is the premier professional service and networking association of federal government executives. FEIAA is an active and influential association, which supports the institute through sponsorship of a variety of executive development and other public service and membership service programs and publications.
