Washington, DC - Kimberly A. Douglass has been named Acting Associate Administrator for the Office of Performance Improvement (OPI).  Ms. Douglass also will continue to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff.

“Kim has been an excellent Deputy Chief of Staff, and I’m thrilled that someone of her professional stature will be taking on this very important role,” Administrator Lurita Doan of the U.S. General Services Administration said today.  “Starting with her work at the White House, Kim has continued to be a standout at GSA.”

As OPI Acting Associate Administrator, Ms. Douglass will report directly to the Administrator and will work as part of GSA's senior management team to drive the process for successful implementation of major performance improvement initiatives throughout all areas of GSA.

"I am eager to take on this exciting opportunity, and I look forward to supporting the Agency in this important role," Ms. Douglass said.

Ms. Douglass arrived at GSA in September 2006 after serving five years with the White House Management Office, most recently as that office’s director.  She also managed the White House budget and additional appropriated funds in the Executive Office of the President.

Previously, Ms. Douglass was director of corporate services at Greater Philadelphia First (GPF), a Philadelphia, Pa., civic and business leadership organization of chief executives.  While at GPF, Ms. Douglass was responsible for the implementation of a new GPF recruitment initiative and events program.  Ms. Douglass holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Villanova University in Villanova, Pa.  She replaces former OPI Associate Administrator Vince Warrick.
