GSA Introduces Mobile Service for Users on the Go

Portal Eases Mobile Government Web Access

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has introduced, the first mobile-friendly version of the federal citizen portal,  The website offers useful services for the mobile user that present well on the small screens of mobile devices.

“Given the penetration of mobile devices worldwide, we at GSA believe this is the natural evolution in providing information to the public anywhere, anytime,” said Martha Dorris, GSA’s Deputy Associate Administrator for Citizen Services.  “During times of emergency, allows the public to search for government information on their mobile devices, which is more likely to occur than on their desktops.”
A compilation of’s most popular services and content, is unadorned with complicated graphics and lengthy text that can bog down mobile web browsers.  Features include:

  • Searches for government web content, images, news, FAQs and toll-free numbers;
  • Direct links to mobile-friendly web content found across the federal government;
  • Acess to GovGab, the U.S. government blog;
  • Federal government per diem rate listings;
  • Congressional contact search; and
  • Weather forecasts.

GSA plans to continue to add functionality to over time as more mobile-friendly content becomes available.
