GSA Awards $400 Million IT Support Contract

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) announced today that it awarded the FAS Applications, Maintenance and Enhancements (FAME) blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to the Lockheed Martin Corporation.  The new award provides FAS with a wide range of information technology (IT) support for its business systems. 
GSA’s Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) competitively awarded this BPA on behalf of the FAS Office of the Chief Information Officer.  The March 20 award, was issued via the GSA information technology schedule 70 contract.  The contract value is $400 million over five years, if all options are exercised.
FAS Chief Information Officer Edward J. O’Hare said, “FEDSIM’s information technology acquisition expertise ensured that we awarded a contract that provides best-value support of our technical needs and requirements.”
This new BPA enables FAS to more efficiently manage and administer FAS IT system operations and program management support.  As a result, FAS has greater capacity to provide customers with best-value services, products, and solutions on an ongoing basis. 
GSA’s schedule 70 contract assists federal, state, and local government agencies with procurement of IT products, services, and solutions.
FEDSIM provides acquisition lifecycle support to federal agencies with large, complex information technology and professional services projects.
