Security and Access
Hours of Operation
The building is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for federal holidays.
Business hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
From 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., all visitors and tenants enter and exit through the main entrance located on United Nations Plaza. Attempts to enter or exit through any other doors will set off a security alarm and guards will respond.
The building is not open to the public. Visitors to the building must be met at the main entrance and then escorted/accompanied by a building tenant while conducting their business at the facility. Visitors are not allowed unescorted access. The general public is not permitted to take unaccompanied tours of the building.
After-hours Building Access
After-hours access is via the sally port located on the southwest/Hyde Street side of the building. Valid government-issued identification must be presented and authorization for after-hours access will need to be coded on the GSA HSPD-12 ID card.
Occupant Emergency Plan (OEP)
This plan establishes emergency response procedures in the case of fire evacuation, chemical/biological release, shelter-in-place or active shooter in the building.
Security is provided during building hours of operation (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) by guards under contract with the Department of Homeland Security, National Protection and Programs Directorate, Federal Protective Service (FPS). Uniformed FPS officers are on site and regularly patrol the area around the building. Contact the FPS (Federal Protective Service) Mega Center at 1-877-437-7411 to report suspicious activity or emergency security concerns.
Photo ID Badges
Photo identification badges are issued by each agency for employees and contractors. Any employee or contractor entering the building without an agency ID badge may be required to pass through the magnetometer and have items such as purses or backpacks x-rayed.
Agencies scheduling deliveries or pick-ups at the basement loading dock are asked to obtain an authorization from the GSA Golden Gate Field Office. Truck lengths are limited to a maximum of 22 feet long. Authorizations are distributed to the building’s security stations to allow for access to the area.
There is no on-site public parking at the building. Public parking is available at garages and parking lots on Larkin Street, Turk Street and the Civic Center (off McAllister Street) or at metered spaces on public streets.
