In commemoration of Women’s History Month 2015, a panel discussion, “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives: Success, Best Practices and Challenges of Women-Owned Small Businesses” was convened on Mduring the GSA Small Business Development Fair to discuss the achievements and challenges that women-owned small businesses face.
The panel discussion, hosted by the National Capital Region, and moderated by Regional Administrator Julia E. Hudson, included Teneshia Alston, Sr. Program Manager, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Theresa Daytner, CEO of Daytner Construction, Necole Parker, CEO/Founder of the Elocen Group, LLC, and Ann Sullivan, President, Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP).
On April 23, 2015, the Greater Southwest Region participated in the 13th Annual Alliance Texas, Small Business Procurement Fair in Arlington, TX. PBS Regional Commissioner Jim Weller, Regional Administrator Yolanda Garcia Olivarez of the Small Business Administration and Assistant Regional Administrator James McDonald of the Environmental Protection Agency participated on a panel to share information with small business owners about how work with the federal government.
