Workstations Category Team (WCT)

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) established the Workstations Category Team (WCT), a consortium of over 20 agencies, to develop a framework and strategy for addressing multiple interagency vehicles in the IT workstation space (laptops, desktops, etc.) to manage the spend, reduce cost, and increase value through applying strategic sourcing principles. The result was the Governmentwide Strategic Solutions (GSS) for Desktops and Laptops.

The WCT will evaluate and refresh standard configurations as needed every nine months based on industry updates and customer feedback. Get the configuration details in the GSS Workstations Specs [PDF - 125 KB] and the OMB Policy Memo-Laptop and Desktop Technical FAQs [PDF - 4.02 MB].
