Revit Templates
GSA has produced a set of Revit templates that are available in both Revit 2014 and Revit 2015 formats. These templates are intended to make adherence to GSA standards more streamlined for project teams. Use of the templates, unlike the Standards, is purely optional. They are provided as a courtesy only. There are three primary templates; Architectural, Electrical, and Plumbing/Mechanical. In addition to the primary templates, there are a number of supporting files to make implementing the full GSA Standards easier.
If build-side partners are available on a timely basis, the A/E is strongly encouraged to discuss the design-side BEP before finalizing, as synchronizing the A/E and GC BEPs is pivotal to a more seamless transfer of BIMs.
History
Versions 1-3 of the GSA Revit templates have been based on an Architectural template created by Region 4. The Region 4 template focused on the implementation of SDM (Spatial Data Management) data into the Revit Architecture platform. The Version 4 and above templates have been extended beyond the scope of SDM and now incorporate much of the GSA BIM Guidelines for Revit including items such as COBie parameters.
Sections
The GSA Templates are standard Revit Templates with GSA Standards applied. In particular, the templates implement many of the Data Submittal requirements. It is assumed that the reader of this guide understands the basics of Revit and what is typically included within a Revit Template. This guide focuses on the ways that specific GSA Standards have been implemented within the template.

- Data Submittal Implementation - Project Browser and Views
- Minimum Attributes Implementation - COBie Parameters, URL Data, and Shared Parameters
- PBS CAD Standards Implementation - Sheets, Titleblocks, and Exports
