BIM Technical Standards: Software Versions
To ensure that all team members across BIM-enabled projects are able to have access to the model, it is necessary to standardize on versions of BIM software. Below is a table listing what versions of software are currently approved for use on BIM projects. If a platform is not listed, you should request guidance from a GSA BIM Champion before modeling.
The specific version of software to be used must be agreed upon by the project team as part of the BEP.
|Autodesk Revit Architecture||2012 / 2013 / 2014||Templates are available in 2013 and 2014 versions.|
|Autodesk Revit Structural||2012 / 2013 / 2014||Templates are available in 2013 and 2014 versions.|
|Autodesk Revit MEP||2012 / 2013 / 2014||Templates are available in 2013 and 2014 versions.|
|Autodesk Navisworks||Up to 2014||Files must be saved back to 2012 format for submittal to GSA|
|Industry Foundation Class (IFC)||IFC2x3||Other IFC formats may be acceptable to GSA - if you would like to submit a format other than IFC2x3 contact a Region 5 BIM Champion|
Note: Upgrading the version during the project duration should be determined and agreed upon by the project team, and be done at no additional cost to GSA.
