Civil Monetary Penalties Inflation Adjustment

The Federal Civil Penalties Inflation Adjustment Act of 1990 (the Inflation Adjustment Act), as amended, requires agencies to make regular and consistent inflationary adjustments of civil monetary penalties (CMP) to maintain their deterrent effect.
