Mike Ryer is our new Mid-Atlantic Region Public Buildings Service Capital Project Delivery Division Director.
Mike Ryer recently assumed responsibility as the Director of the Mid-Atlantic PBS Capital Project Delivery Division. Capital Project Delivery consists of project management professionals and support staff who manage the Mid-Atlantic Region’s program of capital projects, providing expertise to our clients in planning and executing the Region’s most complex, high profile, and high dollar value projects.
Ryer served as a project executive in Capital Project Delivery for 15 years and has been a leader in a number of significant Mid-Atlantic Region PBS projects including the William J. Green, Jr. Federal Building Restack, the FBI Central Records Complex, the William S. Moorhead Federal Building modernization, and projects funded through the Recovery Act. Ryer also managed the design of a new courthouse in Jefferson City, Missouri, on behalf of GSA’s Heartland Region.
Ryer joined GSA in 1991 as a project engineer. Through the course of his career, Ryer has served as project manager for 18 years and on a variety of national teams and programs including building assessments and courthouse reviews for other GSA regions, developing a national project management guide, and served as the Mid-Atlantic Region’s Recovery Act Capital Division Executive.
Ryer has received a variety of awards for his accomplishments through the years, including a gold medal for “Steadfast Achievement” from the Philadelphia Federal Executive Board.
Ryer earned a degree in civil engineering from Penn State University and has pursued additional engineering masters studies.
When asked about his new role as Director, Ryer stated, “I look forward to meeting the challenges of this new position, supporting the work of our Project Executives and Project Managers to deliver the projects that meet our tenant agencies’ missions. By working within the Division, with regional leadership and across PBS’ business lines, I hope to continue the great work of our previous Capital Delivery Division Director and continue to deliver award winning projects for our customers.”
