GSA announces soft-close date for the public auction of 80 Daniel Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

BOSTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has set the soft-close date for the public auction of 80 Daniel Street, formerly known as the Thomas J. McIntyre Federal Building, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. CT. / 9:00 a.m. ET

GSA is offering 80 Daniel Street as part of its mission to deliver value and savings in real estate, acquisition, technology, and other mission support services across the government.

Property Details

  • Constructed in 1966.
  • Located on approximately 2.1 acres.
  • 107,000 gross square feet (81,238 RSF / 61,279 USF).
  • Two-tier parking lot with 91 outdoor and 44 indoor spaces.
  • Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing building to the Downtown Portsmouth Historic District.

Closing rules

This auction will end in one of these ways:

  • At the auction close time if no bids (proxy or flat) are placed within the inactivity period – defined as the previous 24 hours – or the auction is not subject to an inactivity period.
  • After the inactivity period has passed without any bids (proxy or flat) being placed.

There is still time for those interested in bidding to register and submit bids.

  • Those interested in bidding are required to register in advance and submit a $1,000,000 registration deposit.
  • Bid increments will be $50,000.

Potential bidders are invited, urged and cautioned to inspect the property prior to registering and submitting a bid. Inspection dates will be posted to the website and coordinated with the GSA Project Manager, John Dugan.
