Jeff Lau named Region 2 Federal Acquisition Service Regional Commissioner

NEW YORK - The U.S. General Services Administration announces the appointment of Jeff Lau as Regional Commissioner for the Federal Acquisition Service in the Northeast and Caribbean Region. Lau will provide leadership and oversight to four FAS portfolios that provide procurement and contract solutions to federal customers and state and local agencies, which represent over 120 employees and approximately $2 billion in annual revenue.

Since April 2011, Lau has been the FAS Deputy Regional Commissioner for the Northeast and Caribbean Region. Prior to that, Lau served in senior advisory and management roles in the region, including work as an acquisition professional in the Regional Acquisition Center supporting efforts in the Multiple Award Schedules program and Strategic Sourcing Initiatives.

Lau received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from St. John's University.

“Jeff Lau is a talented leader who puts people first. He showed his mettle when he served as Acting Regional Administrator leading GSA's response to Hurricane Maria,” said Commissioner Alan B. Thomas Jr., GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service. “We expect continued great work from the FAS R2 team under Jeff's permanent leadership.”

“We are excited to welcome Jeff as a permanent member of the FAS leadership team. Jeff has served in numerous positions in FAS, including Acting Regional Administrator, Acting Regional Commissioner, and Deputy Regional Commissioner during his tenure with GSA and has made significant contributions to the agency,” said Deputy Commissioner Mary Davie, GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service. “Please join us in congratulating Jeff on this well deserved promotion.”
