KANSAS CITY, Mo. — GSA’s Building Maintenance and Operations team increased total contract value awards by 122% over last fiscal year.

“BMO saw several firsts during fiscal year 2020 to include the first task order awarded by the U.S. Navy, and FBI Academy at Quantico awarded the largest task order to date,” said Project Manager Mary Snodderly, Heartland Acquisition Center in GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service.

Typically customers have to accept that out of good, fast and cheap, you can only have two. GSA’s BMO team consistently gave federal agency customers all three by offering a group of vendors who perform quality work, often saving customers at least 13%, and shaving up to nine months off procurement administrative lead time, Snodderly said.

“While BMO had numerous successes over fiscal year 2020, getting the word out about the program is a challenge,” Snodderly said.

The team saw total contract value of awards through the BMO go from $82 million last fiscal year to $182 million this year. Snodderly attributed the success to the BMO team working with various customer agencies on their requirements, answering their questions, providing complimentary scope reviews, and offering training that allows federal agencies to use the BMO suite of contracts.

“Three of the top five largest task orders under BMO were awarded in fiscal year 2020,” Snodderly said.
