Where do you live? 
Tonganoxie, Kansas

Where is your hometown?
Topeka, Kansas

What was your career journey, to where you are now?
I came to GSA from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where I had been since 2015. At EPA I served as a biologist developing a research program with University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The partnership required me to jump into programming and learn Perl, R, JavaScript, SQL, and Python to handle the large DNA based datasets that were generated. 

When I wasn’t in the lab or on a computer, I was in the field piloting boats, collecting samples, and responding to natural disasters like the 2019 Nebraska floods or 2020's Hurricane Laura. 

What other federal government or military experience have you had and for how long?
I have been serving in the Kansas Air National Guard as a KC-135 refueling tanker inspector, since 2019. I also served in the Kansas Army National Guard from 2007 - 2019 as a Black Hawk crew chief. From 2003-2007 I was in the U.S. Army serving as a tracked vehicle mechanic. 

What is your alma mater, degree or special training?
I earned a B.S. in biology, molecular biology, and biotechnology from Washburn University. 

Tell us a little about yourself. Children? Pets? Married? Hobbies?
I enjoy home renovations, electronic tinkering, 3D printing, and automotive fabrication. My home life is somewhat chaotic as I have four kids from ages 2 to 10, a Great Dane, and two husky puppies.
