The Lawton Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, located at 410 Southwest 5th Street, serves as a landmark for downtown Lawton's central business district. The brick building, constructed in 1917, is an excellent example of the Neo-Classical style of architecture. During its opening, a local newspaper reported that it was "… by far the finest and best looking structure of which the city can boast."
Tenants with facility related questions, concerns or requests, should contact GSA's Northern Service Center, using the contact information provided on the right hand side of this page.
Founded in 1901, Lawton was the last of the Oklahoma boom towns fueled by the land run. The town quickly evolved into a trading center for the large surrounding farm area and nearby army post of Fort Sill. Major government buildings included a city hall, county courthouse and the Lawton Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse.
