Employee Feature: Claire Inman

Claire Inman
Building Manager (67 and 75)
DFC Team West
When did you start working at GSA? My career with GSA began in March 2022.
What did you study in college? Physics! From the beginning, there was a junior-level course offered for optics and lasers that I really wanted to take, but it was only available to physics majors. It took some effort on my part to stay the course, but I found the classes to be fascinating. Once you're in that deep and enjoying it, why change majors?
Where did you work before GSA? Prior to working with GSA, I worked at Home Depot as a Flooring Specialist for several years. My role included helping customers both on their flooring projects through the company and in the aisles.
What are your hobbies outside of work? I have a passion for cooking and golfing. Though, golfing for me has fallen by the wayside. Traveling is also something I enjoy doing, especially with my family. I have seen the Eiffel Tower at night, backpacked Glacier National Park, and scuba dove in Mexico (highly recommend all of them). Not sure what other wonders I will see next, but I can't wait!
What do you like about working at the DFC and GSA? The people are exceptional. I had a brief summer internship with GSA in 2017 at the field office in Helena, MT and fell in love with the workplace culture that Region 8 works so diligently to maintain. We are a community that puts every effort forward to create a space that every voice is not only heard, but also considered important. That same mindset is put forward across the DFC community on a minute-to-minute scale no matter what team you are on. I think that is something that is extremely unique and worth taking pride in.
