GSA Federal Acquisition Service to Host Acquisition Training Symposium

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announces the debut of a new training and exhibition event, hosted by GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). This two-day event providing acquisition and training sessions tailored to federal, military and civilian personnel and GSA’s industry partners will be held May 10-11 in Huntsville, Alabama. Free registration opens today for military and civilian federal attendees. Exhibit sales for GSA industry partners also opens today, on a first come, first serve basis.

Tom Sharpe, FAS Commissioner:

“Since we moved away from hosting GSA Expo a few years ago, we’ve consistently heard from federal agencies and our industry partners that the valuable training and collaboration opportunities provided by GSA training events are still very much needed. As the government makes major changes to the federal procurement landscape through category management, GSA is developing new tools and resources to support this community of professionals. We are committed to deploying FAS’s acquisition expertise to lead this change and help the government act and buy as one.”

Federal Military & Civilian Acquisition Professionals

The GSA Federal Acquisition Training Symposium will provide acquisition training on GSA tools, products and services tailored to federal acquisition professionals who are responsible for mission-critical acquisition spending. This debut event will cover multiple new government-wide initiatives that are transforming the federal acquisition space, as well as create a forum for collaboration between the federal acquisition community and industry. Participation in the training event will be free for all federal attendees.
