Groundbreaking held in Norton for NOAA

GSA Acting Regional Administrator Glenn Rotondo sOn May 18th, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), GSA, Condyne Capital Partners and members of local government gathered to celebrate the construction of NOAA’s future home for its National Weather Service (NWS) with a groundbreaking.

Attendees listened to numerous speakers including Michael Yunits, Norton Town Manager; Donald O’Neill, Managing Partner for Condyne & Polar Design Build; Robert Thompson, Meteorologist-In-Charge of National Weather Service’s Facilities; David Vallee, Hydrologist-In-Charge of National Weather Service’s Northeast River Forecast Center; and Glenn Rotondo, GSA Acting Regional Administrator, before digging their shovels into the ground kicking off the official construction of the project. NWS currently resides in a delegated lease in Taunton, Mass., but have requested that GSA take over the delegation with a new lease at 46 Commerce Way in Norton, Mass.

Project completion is slated for January 2018.
