GSA Administrator Roth Highlights New Initiatives to Bolster Business and Tech Opportunities in Government

Joined by local business leaders at the Triad Innovation Showcase

Greensboro - Partnering with the Greensboro and High Point Chambers of Commerce, the General Services Administrator, Denise Turner Roth, spoke to an audience of small business owners around the work GSA is doing in communities across the country. This includes the Making It Easier initiative, which creates more opportunities for businesses to work with the government to provide more effective services, and the Technology Transformation Service, the new GSA technology service that establishes how the federal government will provide the next generation of digital services.

"GSA has always been at the forefront of pursuing, adopting, and sharing innovative solutions across government. Whether leveraging our real estate portfolio to promote economic development in communities nationwide, making it easier for small businesses to work with government, or leading technology innovations within government, GSA remains committed to delivering the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people."

Through the Making It Easier Initiative, four focused programs provide a smarter way to do business with the government. This includes:

  • the FASt Lane, which cuts the time it takes to get specific new innovative IT suppliers on Schedule 70,
  • The IT Schedule 70 Springboard which gives highly qualified businesses an alternative to the current 2-year professional experience requirement, offering emerging technologies into the hands of customer agencies faster,
  • the Forecast Tool giving small businesses a new way to search for upcoming contracting opportunities – another piece of GSA’s growing environment of innovation and progress, and
  • the IT Schedule 70 Plain Language Roadmap which explains the Schedule 70 offer process for new vendors in clear and simple terms.

The Technology Transformation Service allows GSA to help agencies figure out how to build, buy, and share agile, user-centered technology solutions, and provides GSA with a platform for emerging technology efforts. This allows GSA to redefine its focus on tackling our nation's greatest challenges in technology across the federal government.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is an independent agency of the U.S. government whose mission is to deliver the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people.
