Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is tasked with protecting human health and the environment by writing and enforcing regulations based on laws passed by Congress. Their purpose is to ensure that all Americans are protected from significant risks to their health and the environment. They study environmental issues, give grants for scientific studies and community environmental cleanups, and foster partnerships with businesses, non-profit organizations, and state and local governments to further their environmental goals. The EPA makes certain that environmental protection is an integral consideration in U.S. policies concerning natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry, and international trade.
