TSA Lease Consolidation
Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the U.S. Transportation Security Administration Lease Consolidation in Northern Virginia.
Project Background
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has finalized the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the lease consolidation of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Northern Virginia. GSA has determined that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is appropriate for this project. The Draft Final EA and FONSI were prepared in accordance with Section 102 of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
NEPA requires a federal agency to provide the public with an opportunity to participate in the process of analyzing the impacts of federal actions on the human environment. The Draft Final EA identified and compared the potential impacts that might result from the proposed action alternatives (i.e., consolidation of four TSA locations into one location in Northern Virginia) and a no action alternative.
Public Involvement Opportunity
The Draft Final EA and FONSI are being made available to the public and Federal, and local government agencies for review. Comments are due no later than August 28, 2015.
