GSA Announces New Deputy Chief of Staff

WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration announces the appointment of LaFondra Lynch as the agency’s new deputy chief of staff, effective July 8, 2019. As deputy chief of staff, Lynch supports the GSA administrator and chief of staff in assessing, planning, and implementing activities aligned with the agency's strategic priorities.

Lynch most recently served as chief of staff for GSA’s Public Buildings Service. In this role, she assisted with the nationwide management of more than 5,300 employees and a nearly $10 billion budget. She also advised and collaborated with the PBS Commissioner and senior executives in the development and execution of agency strategic goals. Previously, Lynch served as PBS chief of staff in GSA’s Region 4, where she provided administrative and financial planning, management, and oversight for nine regional programs.

“I am grateful for LaFondra’s leadership and ongoing commitment to GSA,” said Administrator Emily Murphy. “LaFondra has done an excellent job as our PBS chief of staff and she brings a strong set of management, organizational, and strategic skills to our leadership team. I know she will serve our agency well in her new role as deputy chief of staff.”

Prior to joining GSA, Lynch served at the Department of Justice in multiple roles, including as regional public information officer and in a managerial role as the appropriations liaison officer for the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

Lynch holds a doctoral degree in management from the University of Maryland University College, a master of arts degree in government from Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor of science degree from Towson University. Additionally, she is a graduate of the DOJ Leadership Excellence and Achievement Program.
