GSA Acting Administrator Tim Horne says GSA is ready and able to support Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business during GSA’s Veteran-to-Veteran Business Coaching Event.

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The U.S. General Services Administration’s Office of Small Business Utilization today hosted its 2017 Veteran-to-Veteran (V2V) Coaching Event. The event provided Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses with tips and best practices for remaining on the GSA Schedules. More than 80 veterans participated in V2V.

“The General Services Administration is proud to honor our veterans by helping empower their entrepreneurial endeavors,” said OSBU Associate Administrator Charles Manger. “Through OSBU's strong advocacy for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, we open opportunities and ultimately positively affect veteran families nationwide.”

The V2V coaching event connected SDVOSBs with successful veteran businesses for tips and best practices on how to generate sales on their GSA Schedule contracts. The purpose of the event was to help SDVOSBs meet or surpass the $25,000 minimum sales requirement for GSA Schedule contracts, while at the same time providing a pool of mentors and vendors for the SDVOSB community.

“We want all veterans to know, we are your partners, we have veterans in our organization, and the success of veteran small business owners is part of the fabric of our mission,” said Manger. “Our hope is that this event creates more business opportunities for veterans and encourages more veterans to become entrepreneurs.”
