Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Commits to Use of GSA’s OASIS Contract for Complex Professional Services

HHS signs OASIS MOU

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The General Services Administration (GSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) securing CMS’s use of GSA’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) and OASIS Small Business (SB) contracts for procurement of complex professional services.  A signing ceremony was held at HHS offices in Baltimore, Maryland.

OASIS and OASIS SB are “Best in Class” (BIC) multiple award, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts. BIC is a contracting and acquisition designation used across government to denote contracts that meet rigorous category management performance criteria as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. This designation recognizes these contracts as “good-for-government” purchasing solutions which should be used by all agencies.

“GSA is happy that our OASIS and OASIS Small Business suite of contracts are playing a role in supporting the nation’s health care system,” said GSA Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Professional Services and Human Capital Categories Tiffany Hixson. “This MOU also expands our partnership with civilian agencies and is consistent with our goal of providing our partners in government with streamlined contracts that help them more effectively meet their mission requirements, while also eliminating costly duplicative contracts.”

With OASIS and OASIS SB, CMS can:

  • Take advantage of pre-vetted, government-wide BIC contract solutions
  • Support a governmentwide migration to a solution that is mature and market-proven
  • Assist in optimizing spend under management within the governmentwide category management framework
