Limestone Land Port of Entry, Maine
This project will deliver a new Land Port of Entry (LPOE) complex to supplement the existing LPOE in Limestone, Maine. Programming for the new LPOE will expand its functionality by bringing new and existing tenants with operationally aligned missions into a shared facility. The current LPOE is obsolete and cannot accommodate modern inspection and border security technologies. The existing facility is undersized and outdated as it relates to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. When completed, the new LPOE will provide adequate operational space, reduced traffic congestion, and safe conditions for employees and travelers.

Current status
The Construction Manager as Advisor (CMa) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) contract was awarded in February 2023. The project delivery method was changed from design build to design bid build. Architect / Engineering services were contracted to AECOM for pre-design concepts in September 2023. A Construction Manager as Advisor (CMa) was also awarded in September 2023 to Jacobs Engineering.

Environmental review
A NEPA contract was awarded in December of 2022 and the study is ongoing.

Community impact
We will fully modernize the port with a new administration building, new pedestrian processing lanes, new primary building, new passenger vehicle lanes, and new commercial vehicle inspection area. The project will help improve traffic flow and border security while decreasing wait times for travelers.
