GSA publishes draft Environmental Assessment for new VA clinic in Tampa, Florida

ATLANTA – The U.S. General Services Administration has released its draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for a proposed build-to-suit lease project for a new Mental Health Clinic in Tampa, Florida, for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration.

The proposed project would combine three existing VA clinics throughout the Tampa metropolitan area into a new 158,000-square-foot state-of-the-art, energy-efficient mental health care facility better able to serve the area’s veteran population. The consolidated space will enable health practitioners with the VA to better provide several essential services, such as mental health screenings, behavioral therapy, family counseling and substance abuse therapy.

The public is invited to provide comments to GSA on the draft EA, as well as the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) document, during the comment period, January 17 - February 1, 2021. Once a location for the new clinic is selected, construction would begin in Spring 2022 and take approximately 18 months.
