GSA Awards Contract for the New Nashville U.S. Courthouse

NASHVILLE, TN -- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded a bridging design-build contract for the Nashville U.S. Courthouse to Hensel Phelps Construction Company of Orlando, Fla. The Hensel Phelps Construction Company team includes Fentress Architects of Washington, D.C. who will complete the design.

“The new U.S. Courthouse will allow for the courts and court-related tenant agencies presently located in the Estes Kefauver Federal Building and Annex to consolidate their operations into one location,”  said GSA’s Southeast Regional Commissioner for the Public Buildings Service, Mike Goodwin. “By maximizing operational efficiencies through the building’s design, we are able to meet the government’s needs while making valuable use of taxpayer dollars.”

The new Nashville U.S. Courthouse project is currently scheduled for completion in the spring of 2021. The site will accommodate the 30-year needs of the court. The tenant agencies for the project include: U.S. District Court; U.S. Probation; U.S. Marshals Service; GSA Field Office; U.S. Senate; U.S. Attorneys Office; and retail concessions. The new courthouse will provide eight courtrooms and 11 chambers to accommodate 11 judges.
