GSA Regional Administrator Michael Copeland has been re-elected as chairman of the Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board for 2020 — a role he first began serving in 2018.

In addition, FAS’s Brandon Boyd has been selected to serve as the chairman of the FEB’s Human Resources subcommittee for the next year. He is replacing outgoing chairwoman Jennifer Minor from the Office of Personnel Management.

OMA’s Zane Steves will also continue to serve as co-chair of the Emergency Assessment and Response subcommittee along with Lisa Chalifoux from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Copeland led a swearing-in ceremony for the FEB’s 2020 officers at the Robert J. Dole Federal Courthouse in Kansas City, Kansas, Oct. 16. During the ceremony, he was presented with a plaque from the Director of OPM recognizing his selection as FEB chairman.

“It has been an honor for me to serve in this position, and I’m very proud of what the FEB has been able to accomplish over the last year,” Copeland said. “We have a strong and talented team in place, and I believe we can accomplish even more moving forward.”

As chairman of the HR subcommittee, Boyd will oversee the FEB’s employee development efforts — which includes interagency training, mentoring and recruitment programs.

“Brandon brings a wealth of experience to the FEB, and we’re excited to have him leading the HR subcommittee,” said FEB Executive Director Larry Hisle.

The Greater Kansas City FEB serves as a catalyst for communication, coordination and collaboration among the 38,000 federal employees in 150 agencies located in Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platt and Ray counties in Missouri and Johnson, Leavenworth and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.
