Welcome to National Small Business Week (NSBW)! During this special week, September 12-18, GSA joins the nation to celebrate the many contributions of the nation's small business owners. Small business owners work to create jobs, drive innovation, increase America’s global competitiveness and grow the U.S. economy. NSBW is an opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding small business owners from across the nation.

GSA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) advocates for small businesses, small-disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, and small businesses located in Historically Underutilized Business Zones. OSDBU provides support and resources that promote increased access to GSA's nationwide procurement opportunities.

GSA is uniquely positioned to support small businesses and socio-economic small businesses throughout the country, and to also to provide valuable services to GSA’s acquisition workforce and our customer agencies.

Our advocacy and outreach efforts include providing small businesses with training resources and guidance so that they too, can maximize their opportunities to win business. Resources such as OSDBU’s “Doing Business with GSA” video series provides valuable information to small businesses on how to do business with GSA, with a focus on socio-economic small businesses.

GSA has a long history of being a champion for small business participation in the federal procurement process. In fact, GSA continues to meet and exceed agency-wide small business contracting goals. In fiscal year 2020, GSA exceeded all prime contracting small business goals awarding $2.6 billion in contracts to small businesses. GSA also exceeded the agencywide subcontracting goal and awarded $8.3 billion in subcontracts to small businesses.

These efforts contributed to GSA earning an A+ in the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Small Business Procurement Scorecard for Fiscal Year 2020, the eleventh consecutive year that GSA has received an “A” grade or higher, demonstrating our impressive track record of delivering for small businesses.

GSA is committed to reaching the nation’s smallest businesses. Staying connected with the small business community will be key to our success. Outreach, such as workshops and training seminars will continue as we help small businesses navigate the federal procurement process and contribute to our nation’s economic recovery.

Join us September 29th at OSDBU’s National Small Business Training and Matchmaking event. Register now to attend Small Business Works 2021: Level Up & Network Series to learn about upcoming federal contracting opportunities and doing business with GSA, while expanding your network. This event is free and will provide you with the resources your small business needs to thrive in the Federal marketplace!
