GSA awards $760,350 for pre-design services for the Coburn Gore, Maine, land port of entry modernization and expansion project

BOSTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded a contract for architectural and engineering services for the Land Port of Entry at Coburn Gore, Maine

Funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, GSA awarded the $760,350 contract to Dattner Architects, which will provide pre-design services. Pre-design activity aligns the government’s project requirements with the planned project budget and the availability of land for this work.

The overall project will assist the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) mission to more efficiently carry out its mission at the border crossing between Coburn Gore and Woburn, Quebec.

GSA’s goals for the Coburn Gore port include providing a long-lasting and durable facility which is sustainable and climate resilient, with low maintenance and operating costs. This project will help strengthen the supply chain, create good-paying jobs, enhance safety and security, and serve as a model of sustainability.

When completed, the project will provide for the efficient flow of current and projected traffic volumes.

Construction on the Coburn Gore port of entry is currently scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026, with completion estimated to be in the spring of 2029.

This announcement is part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda in growing the American economy from the bottom up and middle-out – from rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, to creating a manufacturing and innovation boom powered by good-paying jobs, to building a clean-energy economy that will combat climate change and make our communities more resilient.
