GSA Adds Hundreds of Small Businesses to the 8(a) STARS II GWAC Contract

New industry partners join the contract vehicle to offer more choices to government customers

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The GSA 8(a) STARS II Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) recently added approximately 500 qualified industry partners during an Open Season. The Open Season enables GSA to continue its support of the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program and assist agencies in meeting their small business goals. With over 3,200 task order awards and $5.3 billion in sales since 2011, the 8(a) STARS II GWAC provides an abundance of opportunity for small businesses.

“GSA’s awarding of the 8(a) STARS II Open Season demonstrates our commitment to provide government with a competitive pool of contractors representing some of the most innovative 8(a) IT firms,” said Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of the Information Technology Category. “The ability to issue directed orders to firms streamlines procurements and allows agencies to meet small business objectives while obtaining services faster than traditional open market acquisitions.”

The 8(a) STARS II GWAC is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract engineered to provide federal agencies flexible sources of IT services and IT services-based solutions, as well as cutting edge technology solutions from award-winning 8(a) small businesses. The scope of the 8(a) STARS II GWAC centers on four functional areas (FAs), derived from the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS):

  • Custom Computer Programming Services (NAICS 541511)
  • Computer Systems Design Services (NAICS 541512)
  • Computer Facilities Management Services (NAICS 541513)
  • Other Computer Related Services (NAICS 541519)

This contract is available for ordering through August 30, 2021, with performance through August 30, 2024, and includes a total of over 800 skilled IT service providers. The 8(a) STARS II GWAC aligns with the IT Services Hallway within Category Management on the Acquisition Gateway, specifically IT outsourcing and IT consulting services.
