GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded the Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) contract for the new U. S. Courthouse in Greenville, S.C. to the general contractors Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC (Brasfield & Gorrie) on September 25, 2017.

"GSA is pleased to announce this contract award, which serves as a significant milestone in the delivery of the new U.S. Courthouse to the Greenville community,” said Mike Goodwin, GSA Public Buildings Service Regional Commissioner for the Southeast Sunbelt Region.  “This award also reflects our ongoing commitment to work with industry partners to design and execute efficient and superior quality buildings and workspaces for our federal customers and stakeholders."

This Courthouse project encompasses the construction of a new 193,000 gross square-foot courthouse and will provide seven courtrooms and nine chambers to accommodate the judges. The proposed structure will alleviate growth issues and provide for current and 30-year expansion space requirements for the courts and related agencies.

The CMc project delivery method allows an owner to engage a construction contractor during the design process to provide construct ability and cost estimation input. During the design phase, the CMc contractor provides input regarding scheduling, pricing, sequencing and phasing of work, and construct ability to help ensure that the design and construction documents are at a price at or below the project’s total construction budget.
